Presevi Industries Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, India, established in 1985, is an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) of electronic controllers for the appliance industry with an independent R&D division and two manufacturing facilities. We have a strong foundation in engineering physics, applied mathematics, and core engineering principles, instrumentation, power electronics, embedded controller development and strengthened by nearly four decades of expertise in mechatronic system design. By applying reliability methodologies such as EMC, EMI, FMECA, FTA, MTTR, MTBF, and AVAILABILITY from the earliest stages of development, SQC techniques implementing in manufacturing, and providing prompt service after sales, we deliver effective solutions. Combined with our ability to quickly analyse complex problems, this enables the company to make meaningful contributions to the engineering field.
The firm began
operations in 1985, coining the name “PRESEVI” from the phrase “village
preservation.” The idea of taking the entrepreneurial path and contributing
more meaningfully was conceived upon returning to India from West Germany
after completing an advanced training. An Entrepreneurial Development
Program (EDP), initiated by the top management of the State Bank of India
(SBI) and offered to a select few, further fuelled our venture with
techno-economic capabilities. The promoters were primarily motivated by a
social outlook—doing the part for society—and therefore engaged the
underprivileged, particularly women, in small but productive activities.
Although the company soon faced financial losses, this experience became an
opportunity to learn about profit-driven enterprises, genuine social work,
and ethical business practices. It also made us realize that we were not
fully leveraging our core strengths in electronics engineering, design
capabilities, and skill sets.
It was observed that many industries,
particularly in the small-scale sector in India, were struggling to maintain
consistent quality in their engineering products. We realized that these
challenges could be addressed by introducing low-cost automation within an
affordable range, which would benefit both the industry and us. PRESEVI was
able to design and develop several specialized models of machine monitoring
systems, catering to sectors such as mechanical operations, printing,
textiles, and food processing. Another gap we identified was the lack of
professional service support in several critical and sophisticated fields,
like healthcare, ship instrumentation, textiles and manufacturing. These
activities provided us with strong financial stability, as we now operated
the business in a win-win manner by leveraging our knowledge and skill
sets.
Very soon, we were exposed to challenging problems such as the
non-availability of critical manufacturing parts, particularly imported
ones, and the possibilities of replacing mechanical components with simple,
cost-effective electronic alternatives. These challenges led us to design
& develop of affordable electronic controllers for applications such as
washing machines, air-conditioners and the cellular and fixed-line service
sectors.
Further exposure and interactions with industry experts enabled
us to design highly sophisticated systems that required strong domain
knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and design-for-manufacturing
expertise. Most of these solutions involved integrating control algorithms,
power electronics, instrumentation, and embedded controllers.
To achieve
this, our team adopted and consistently practiced reliability methodologies
such as FMECA, FTA, EMC/EMI compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and AVAILABILITY
analysis—right from the concept stage. We also implemented SQC techniques in
manufacturing and established strong service support, resulting in robust
and dependable products. All our solutions were well documented, with
excellent traceability of system design, region-wise defect history, and
comprehensive records of customer feedback and suggestions.
We now
provide consultancy and specialized solutions for electronic controllers,
covering every stage from R&D to manufacturing—driven consistently by
quality, innovation, and precision. With over four decades of expertise, we
serve key sectors including air conditioning, refrigeration, washing
machines, defence, railways, space, telecom, hospitality, and energy. Our
success is built on rigorous testing and reliability practices that ensure
